In an emotional interview package that aired during the season premiere of Dancing with the Stars on Monday, Tori Spelling got candid about the difficulties she has faced in recent years.
Spelling, who is partnered with professional dancer Louis van Amstel, revealed that her life "burned to the ground" in recent years, mentioning her financial struggles, her marriage troubles, and the loss of her mother, Candy Spelling, in 2006.
Spelling Hopes 'DWTS' Will Be a Transformative Experience
Despite the challenges she has endured, Spelling said she is hopeful that her time on DWTS will be a transformative experience.
She said, "I'm excited to learn new things and push myself out of my comfort zone. I'm ready to find myself again."
Spelling's Performance Impresses Judges and Audience
In her first dance of the season, Spelling and van Amstel performed a Viennese waltz to the tune of "Can't Help Falling in Love" by Elvis Presley.
The performance earned praise from the judges, with Bruno Tonioli calling it "a beautiful, elegant, and emotional dance."
Spelling and van Amstel received a score of 24 out of 40, putting them in the middle of the pack.
'DWTS' Season 33 Features Diverse Cast of Celebrities
Spelling is one of 16 celebrities competing in season 33 of Dancing with the Stars.
The cast also includes Selma Blair, Charli D'Amelio, Heidi D'Amelio, Wayne Brady, Shangela, Jessie James Decker, and Jordin Sparks.
The season premiered on September 19, 2022, on Disney+.
